The board of directors of Tigres de Aragua announced the return of Welby “Buddy” Bailey as the Ninth Bengali strategist for the 2024-2025 season of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP).
“ We all know Bailey's way of working, his dedication to the team, discipline and dedication, as well as knowing the project that we have been developing from management. Its continuity will allow us to maintain the plan we have drawn up,” the president of the organization, Víctor Zambrano, reported to the Tigres de Aragua press.
In the 2023-2024 campaign, Bailey left a record of 29 wins and 26 losses, qualifying for Round Robin, where the Bengals had 5 wins and 11 setbacks.
Currently, Bailey is the driver of the Chicago Cubs Class A team, Myrtle Beach Pelicans, of the Carolina League, the ninth he has directed for the eighth time.
The 67-year-old North American will play his 18th season in Venezuela, the 16th with Tigres de Aragua, 15 of them as manager and one as bench coach. He has accumulated six league titles and one Caribbean Series.
In the coming days, the Aragueño team will announce the staff that will accompany the North American in the 2024-2025 LVBP season.
