National authorities carried out an inspection of the operations of the “Hugo Chávez Frías” ABA Direct Social Property Company, located in the Palito Blanco Endogenous Development Center (NUDE), in Maracaibo, Zulia state, with the objective of evaluating the productive capacity of balanced food for the poultry and livestock sector.

The day was led by the Minister of Popular Power for Industries and National Commerce, Luis Villegas, and the Minister of Popular Power for Communes, Social Movements and Urban Agriculture, Ángel Prado, who verified the operation of the plant.

In this regard, Villegas reported that 300 tons of balanced food are processed daily in this production complex, which generates around 6,500 40-kilo bags per day. He stressed that more than 90% of the national supply comes from Venezuelan production, and that the communal sector provides more than 60% in items such as corn, caraota and rice, which consolidates the productive chain model.

For her part, the community spokeswoman Verimar Sánchez, together with the authorities, evaluated the operability of the machinery and the installed capacity, verifying the processing of the raw material.

At the close of the inspection, a communal assembly was held with spokespersons from various indigenous communities in the region, at which the technical and logistical requirements of the complex were reviewed, as well as the distribution schemes for small and medium-sized livestock producers in the area.
