The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, this Sunday, March 30, repudiated the support of Venezuelan extremist opposition sectors for the Foreign Enemies Act of the United States, which has affected migrants in that country.

In the Situational Analysis program broadcast by Globovision, he stated that “we have seen how outlaws with a dishonorable rejection of the Venezuelan population, such as Mrs. María Corina Machado and Mr. Edmundo González, have come out like crazy people to applaud for the application of a law that dates back more than 220 years.”

He warned that this opposition group is creating a breeding ground for Venezuelans to be killed and lynched in the United States. “Not only are they mass deportations, but they are going to see any Venezuelan as an enemy (...) xenophobia is growing, because of them these politicians are hated,” he said.

Saab compared this US law, which dates back more than 200 years, with the one applied in Venezuela between the 1940s and 90s, called the “Lazy and Malicious Law”, created by the Governments of Democratic Action (AD) and Copei, and which was based on detention for appearance alone.

In this regard, the prosecutor denounced the inaction of the United Nations (UN), before the Foreign Enemies Act against Venezuelans in the United States.

“That is a case that the UN should have to discuss tomorrow, afternoon and night. Where is the UN General Human Rights Committee and Council? Where is the United Nations Security Council? ”, he questioned.

He also mentioned the Venezuelans kidnapped in El Salvador, “that the floodgates be opened for rationality, for the rule of law, for justice, for international law.”

Saab said that this will succeed, that the current Habeas Corpus will be declared valid and all compatriots could return to the country.
