Attorney General: Detainees at the march will be brought before the Counter-Terrorism Control Court

The Attorney General of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, reported that in the middle of the nomination of the
President of the Republic Nicolás Maduro, before the National Electoral Council
(CNE), two men carrying firearms were arrested.
During a press conference, the Prosecutor explained that the subjects were just 20 meters from the presidential platform, in Plaza Diego Ibarra, where President Maduro was going to give his speech, after his registration with the CNE. “There are audios between them speaking with impressive hatred.”
“As Jerry Argenis Ostos Perdomo, the
first detainee was identified, who, when approached by the security forces,
was found a 9 mm caliber firearm, brand Pietro Beretta, and a 9 magazine.
mm with a capacity of 15 ammunition and containing 12 ammunition,” explained the Prosecutor.
Later, his partner was located, who
identified himself as Carlos Eduardo Castillo and also had a 7.65 mm
caliber Walther firearm, with a magazine with a capacity of 8
ammunition and containing 6 bullets.
He also reported that both subjects, during the interrogation, claimed to be political activists of the organization Vente Venezuela.
The Prosecutor added that as part of the development of the ongoing
investigation, several raids have been carried out since last night and in
the next few hours these subjects will be presented to the respective Counter-Terrorism Control Court
, “by the association commission; assassination in a degree of
attempt; incitement to hatred and illegal carrying of firearms in prohibited places.”
