In view of the Gatorade Caracas Rock 2026 sports competition, several road arteries in eastern Caracas will register traffic restrictions this weekend.
The road closure plan will begin this Saturday, October 3 at 11:00pm with the total interruption of the passage on the Prados del Este highway, towards La Trinidad, from the junction with the Gran Cacique Guaicaipura highway to the Santa Fe distributor.
They also announced the suspension of traffic on the main avenue of Las Mercedes, in the stretch between Mucuchí and New York streets.
For Sunday, October 4, a controlled passage will be enabled between 5:00am and 6:00am on the Prados del Este highway, towards Las Mercedes, starting from the La Trinidad tunnel. Starting at 6:00am, the total closure of this road artery will be applied, as well as of Paseo Enrique Eraso, La Guairita Avenue in Chuao, and Rio de Janeiro and José Lazo Martí avenues.
In this regard, the organizers of the event provided alternative routes for drivers who travel through the affected sectors, with the aim of reducing the impact on urban traffic.
Those in charge of the operation indicated that “the old Baruta highway will be open to Las Mercedes”; and optional roads also include the main avenue of Colinas de Bello Monte and its cross streets, the routes to Los Campitos and Cumbres de Curumo for traffic in the direction of Santa Fe, in addition to Suapure Street.
