World wushu is preparing to experience an unprecedented milestone with its official debut in the competitive program of the Dakar 2026 Olympic Games, to be held from October 31 to November 13, and Venezuela will have Valeria Dudamel in Larense as the highest representative of Latin America to challenge the hegemony of Asian competitors.
At 16 years old, Dudamel has already competed with the best in the adult category in the World Cup in Brasilia, Brazil 2025, and with the youth teams at the top event held last March in Tianjin, China, an experience that will help him compete in the demanding combined Changquan event, according to a press release from the Ministry of People's Power for Sports.
This “All-Around” Olympic format will subject athletes to the sum of empty-handed routines (Changquan) and cane dexterity (Gunshu), between November 1 and 3 at the Dakar Exhibition Center (DEX) in Diamniadio.
