The Attorney General, Tarek William Saab, presented new data on the conspiracy that sought to attack the president of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro in the state of Monagas.

From the headquarters of the Public Ministry, Saab recalled that last week Whillfer José Piña Azuaje was arrested, who posted threats against the life of the head of state on his social networks.

“After his arrest, an incriminating conversation was found with Renzo Estibenz Flores that led to the arrest of this second citizen”, and in turn the dismantling of a new plan to orchestrate a coup d'etat.

Among the actions carried out, the verification of the conversation found on the detainee's phone stands out, and the participation of Warner Jiménez, former mayor of the Maturín municipality, Popular Will party, was verified.

“As part of the investigations, 17 searches have been carried out on people who maintained continuous contacts of a conspiratorial nature with this citizen, to determine if there is any participation of any of them in this conspiracy,” he said.

“There was a WhatsApp group with 47 members, with documents containing threats; with information from places to capture people. Undoubtedly, this is a group of people that some will believe to be evicted, but they capture others like that, who don't mind starting a criminal escalation. Obviously they were not going to achieve the seizure of power through that violent means, but what matters to them is to cause harm,” he said.

In this regard, he specified that the two detainees were presented and were deprived of their liberty, after being charged with the crimes of intentional homicide classified as attempted, against the President of the Republic Nicolás Maduro Moros; conspiracy and association.
