This Wednesday, October 30, the Argentine people joined the transport strike called by the union, to which teachers and social movements have joined, in protest against the economic policy of President Javier Milei, which they have denounced has led the population to a situation of hunger, reports the Página12 portal.
Argentine media and on social networks, the so-called “picketeers” have announced making “popular pots” in the streets in order to denounce the serious situation.
In this regard, the Página 12 review points out that the carriers said that “we took to the streets to denounce the critical situation of hunger. Food still doesn't reach community canteens, the situation in neighborhoods is very complex, December is just around the corner and it's important to demand that the government re-establish food shipments.”
She states that Dina Sánchez, from the Union of Workers of the Popular Economy All (UTEP), specifies that “every day there are women who come to our picnic areas to ask for something to feed themselves, grandparents, more and more people living on the streets”.
In addition, the Prensa Obrera portal, the broadcasting body of the Picketing Movement, specifies that “today's strike is a true channel for the expression of popular demands against the government. The day encompasses demands for wages, against layoffs and hunger and in defense of public education. The ruling party, beaten, responds by discrediting measures of force through state dissemination instruments, such as the application My Argentina”.
According to the website El Diarioar.com, it points out that the strike has been the subject of ridicule by government representatives, led by the first Argentine president.
Javier Milei fired all his artillery in the last few hours with several answers on the social network X, against the transport strike that is taking place this Wednesday in the country and aimed at “trade unionist workers”.
On the Página12 portal, he points out that in line with the national government's campaign against unions, the Secretary of Transportation, Franco Mogetta, disqualified the union leaders with the nickname “ghost train pilots” and accused them of carrying out a strike that “is a political boycott” against the Milei administration “that keeps improving the lives of Argentines”.
