The Argentine Ministry of Health reported that more than 488,000 cases of dengue fever have been registered so far in 2024 in the South American country.

In this regard, he explained that the outbreak is currently 3.35 times larger in the year-on-year comparison promoted by the Central region.


According to the National Epidemiology Bulletin (BEN), the region with the most cases is the most central region, accounting for 62.1%.

“The analysis of information for the epidemiological characterization of dengue and other arboviruses is carried out (...) by 'season', meaning a period of 52 weeks from SE31 of one year to 30 of the following year, to consider together the epidemic months,” explained the Ministry of Health.

So far there have been 343 deaths from this disease.

“Deaths were registered in all age groups, with the highest mortality rate being those over 80 years of age,” said the BEN.
