The state of Anzoátegui is emerging as one of the most productive entities in the country with the contribution of 22,000 hectares of cereals and a projected production of more than 78,000 metric tons of white and yellow corn by the end of this year 2026, said the Minister of Productive Agriculture and Lands, Vladimir Padrino López.
As reported by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), during an inspection at the facilities of the Radum Agricultural Unit, in La Mesa de Guanipa, as part of the start of the Maize Harvest Plan for the Winter 2026 Cycle in the region.
“Currently, this state is adding to the cereal harvest of the winter 2026 cycle. It also shows exponential growth in livestock activity and in the planting of crops such as paprika, peanuts, tomatoes, onions, among many others,” he said.
Also, Padrino López indicated that Anzoátegui has a potential agricultural area of more than 200,000 hectares of land classified as highly arable.
Finally, Governor Luis José Marcano praised the work of the farmers' union and stressed the need to balance industrial development with rural production. “We cannot allow this new phase of oil momentum to make us retreat from the great agricultural achievements achieved in recent years,” he said.
