The Anti-Fascist International, El Salvador chapter, protested in the streets of the Central American country against the kidnapping of more than 230 Venezuelan migrants in a maximum-security prison under the government of Nayib Bukele.

“To the courageous companions of the Anti-Fascist International (El Salvador chapter): From Venezuela, we thank them with our fists raised for raising their voices in the streets, in the sacred framework of the 45th anniversary of the martyrdom of Monsignor Romero, to denounce the kidnapping of our migrants in Salvadoran territory,” said the Deputy Minister for Latin America, Rander Peña, on his Telegram channel, in response to the action supportive.

He stressed that the struggle of the Salvadoran movement “is not only for kidnapped Venezuelans, it is Romero's own battle against oppression, the same one that peoples are fighting today against fascism and injustice. Every slogan, every banner, is hope that crosses its borders.”

Peña emphasized that the anti-fascist group honors its history, “because when they shout 'Freedom for migrants', they are defending the same principle that cost the life of the saint of the poor: that no one be treated as disposable. We will continue to denounce until we see our brothers free, and we will do so with the same courage with which you are marching today. Until victory always!” , he said.
