Between January 16 and January 24, 2025, the Ministry asked the country's courts to review 381 measures imposed on people linked to the acts of violence experienced in the country after the presidential election of July 28.

This was reported by the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, in a statement issued this Saturday in which he pointed out that with these actions the number of people, linked to post-electoral violence, who have been released from prison has risen to 1,896.

The above-mentioned text indicates that the revision of the measures has been carried out within the framework of respect and unrestricted observance of the principles and guarantees enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic.

The Public Ministry reports that, as part of its ongoing updating of the investigations it is carrying out, including those related to people linked to the acts of post-electoral violence, it has determined, hand in hand with the Judiciary, a new group of people who have been asked to review the measure.

In this regard, a total of 381 revisions were requested and agreed on January 16 and January 24, 2025, which added to those processed previously and which have been reported in previous communications, give a total number of 1,896 releases granted to date, within the framework of respect and unrestricted observance of the principles and guarantees enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic.

The Public Prosecutor's Office remains unaffected as a good-faith, objective and impartial party, working for the defense of Peace, Justice and Human Rights.
