On September 12, 1928, one of the best Venezuelan writers, Anibal Nazoa, was born. He was the poet, journalist and comedian who best portrayed the reality of the 20th century in Venezuela with intelligence, commitment to freedom, grace, tenderness, acidity and above all with great depth.

Always in favor of the popular and cultural outcry, Nazoa was the target of pointfixism and right-wing repression for years in Venezuela.

Son of Rafael Nazoa and Micaela González, this great writer grew up in a humble house, located in the neighborhood of El Guarataro. He was a self-taught child, due to the economic situation of his family, so already at the age of 12 he carried out different tasks such as: carpentry, assistant in food stores, and even packer in the newspaper El Universal. This last work allowed him to learn everything from typography to languages such as English and French, a fact that led him to learn about the world of arts and communication.

His first column was in the newspaper El Universal under the name of On the same street. There, Nazoa published different articles full of the humor that characterized him, a tool that helped him criticize right-wing governments. Through humor, this great writer, who always spoke out against all retaliation and abuse that occurred in the harsh national reality, was an unwavering defender of culture and popular causes.

Among his works, the author highlights are: Here It's Hot, published in 1969; The Arts and Crafts, a book published in 1973 and in which Nazoa reinvents each of the professions known so far in society to give it a new concept; and The Word of Today, 1981.

Without a doubt, Anibal Nazoa's thinking remains valid among readers
