AN rejects new escalation against peace in Venezuela by the European Parliament

In a statement, this Thursday the National Assembly (AN) repudiated attempts to revive imperialist relationship models by the European Parliament embodied in resolutions of a disrespectful, colonialist and interventionist nature, at the service of the most despicable interests contrary to those of the Fatherland.

The highest authority of the Legislature, Deputy Jorge Rodríguez, published a statement on his account on the social network X, which warns that these attacks against Venezuelan democratic institutions seek to undermine the foundations of political stability and peace in the nation on behalf of the European Parliament, which has participated in different actions against Venezuela, supporting ultra-radical opposition sectors implicated in assassinations, conspiracies and coups d'etat.

The statement also rejects the EP resolution that declares Venezuela a “non grata” nation and questions Venezuela's democratic institutionality in complacency with the strategy of diplomatic and multiform aggression undertaken by the United States government and its European allies.

Finally, the document states that the AN requires the European Parliament to immediately cease interfering actions that violate the elementary principles of Public International Law against the Venezuelan homeland.
