The Committee for the Evaluation of Applications of the Citizens' Power of the National Assembly (AN), published, through its Telegram channel, public calls to participate in the selection process of candidates for the positions of Comptroller General of the Republic, Ombudsman and Attorney General of the Republic.

The call, as reported by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), is made in accordance with the provisions of article 279 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in accordance with article 23 of the Organic Law of Citizen Power.

Among the requirements to apply for these positions are to be Venezuelan or Venezuelan by birth and to have no other nationality, to be a citizen or citizen of recognized honor, to be a jurist of recognized competence, to have enjoyed a good reputation, to have practiced law for a minimum of 15 years and to have a postgraduate university degree in legal matters.

For the purposes of this call, candidates and candidates must submit to this committee the documentation requested for each position as of the date indicated in this publication.

The formation of this parliamentary committee was carried out in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic and in accordance with article 23 of the Organic Law of Citizen Power. This is a group of 13 deputies, who will review the profiles of those who apply to run for the positions of Prosecutor, Defender and Comptroller. The review of the profiles will take place over the next 30 days, and then the names of the candidates for these positions will be presented to Parliament.
