AN proposed to continue the Venezuela-Colombia parliamentary meeting in Caracas

The president of the Permanent Committee on Foreign Policy of the National Assembly (AN), Deputy Timoteo Zambrano, invited to continue in the city of Caracas, next Saturday, December 14, the meeting of the Accidental Commissions for the Restoration of Diplomatic and Commercial Relations with Colombia, which took place this Tuesday, November 26.

The invitation was made during his speech in the Colombian Congress, on behalf of the President of the Legislative Branch Jorge Rodríguez, and of the Plenary of the Venezuelan Parliament, considering that by the aforementioned date there is still parliamentary activity in both countries.

He also stated that it was appropriate for representatives of the Venezuelan Executive Branch to exchange progress with the two delegations regarding the re-establishment of the binational relationship.

This Tuesday, at the Congress of the Republic, in Bogotá, the joint accidental commissions to follow up on the re-establishment of diplomatic and commercial relations between the two sister nations, to assess progress in bilateral relations.

This meeting will present the advances and challenges of the process of re-establishing bilateral relations, as well as the proposals to revitalize them.

Among the main objectives of the joint session, the presentation of the balance of progress and difficulties in the process stands out, and the lines of action that will be proposed to advance a plan on the Colombian-Venezuelan border.

Among the agreements to be reviewed, there is the commercial and cargo transport agreement, in addition to the agreement for the protection and promotion of investors.
