The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, called for a dialogue with the leaders of the political parties and the social movements that participated in the last Presidential Election, to debate tomorrow on the political sphere and on electoral laws.
The invitation was raised at the regular session, in which he proposed to review all the electoral laws approved in the country, such as the Organic Law on Political Parties, the Law on Electoral Processes and the Law on Electoral Power.
“We as deputies have a duty: we have the duty of legislative development established in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,” he emphasized.
He recalled that, as the Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, has pointed out, “there is no dialogue with fascists, we dialogue with real democrats, not with fascist cowards.”
He stated that the extreme right “always starts with lies in electoral processes; as in 2002, they have a terrible habit of not recognizing the electoral results of the only entity such as the CNE. I tell them that if you don't recognize the electoral referee, don't participate.”
Rodríguez ratified the importance of attending to debate and make proposals because, these electoral laws “will be approved before the end of 2024, so that the next elections will be governed by the new electoral laws approved by the National Assembly of Venezuela.”
He also pointed out that politicians who call for invasions in the country have to go to jail, “there can be no politicians calling for foreign invasions of the country. There can be no Venezuelan, a Venezuelan woman, who calls for invasions of the country, by foreign countries.”
In this regard, referring to the opponent Edmundo González Urrutia, he stated that “our aspiration must be that never again will a thief, a stateless person or a fascist be a candidate for absolutely any elected office in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. We sent Spain to a murderer; you can name him whatever you want; those who support them are only the Spanish cohorts”.
He ratified that every politician who uses electoral processes in Venezuela to create violence will not be acceptable, “the existence of people who use the electoral instruments provided by Venezuelan democracy to attack democracy, the lives of people, must end.”
“There can be no councilman, deputy, mayor, governor or governor, or president or president who calls for destruction and death,” he said.
