In a regular session, the National Assembly (A N) approved the draft agreement to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the birth of Fabricio Ojeda, a Venezuelan parliamentarian who resigned his seat to join the guerrillas against the fixed point pact and the policies of the Fourth Republic.

The president of the AN, Jorge Rodríguez, said “we pay tribute to the journalist, statesman, man of his word, to the man who went to the mountains of the West to defend his word and betrayed dignity, to the man who took up arms and who sent a letter of resignation to the Congress of the late fourth republic that is an example of loyalty to the principles of honesty and full life.”

For his part, the deputy Yolmar Gudiño, who presented the agreement, said that this Venezuelan journalist and politician was a faithful revolutionary, an inspiration to continue the fight to guarantee the human rights of the Venezuelan people. “Fabricio Ojeda defends even with his own life, the resources that belong to us, that is why today we say that he is a true Bolivarian”.

The document cited by the Venezolana de Televisión website reads that the 95th anniversary of the birth of the revolutionary leader Fabricio Ojeda is commemorated, as an example of struggle and loyalty to revolutionary, ethical and fidelity principles; in addition to promoting knowledge and in-depth study of his thought and work, as part of revolutionary history in order to keep his legacy alive.
