AN approved proposal to bring a relic of José Gregorio Hernández to the National Pantheon

The National Assembly (AN) approved a proposal to bring a relic of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández to rest in the National Pantheon.

“The corresponding procedures will be taken to bring a relic of Jose Gregorio to the National Pantheon,” said the president of the Parliament Jorge Rodríguez during the regular session this Thursday.

In addition, the Draft Agreement was unanimously approved on the occasion of the signing of the decree of Canonization of Blessed Doctor José Gregorio Hernández Cisneros, doctor of the poor and of the Venezuelan people.

In this regard, Rodríguez highlighted the humanistic and scientific work he carried out during his lifetime as a doctor for the poor.

“We all keep the anecdotes of our grandmothers and family members about the miracles that José Gregorio had done. It was he who introduced the microscope to Latin America and the founder of the chair of bacteriology and experimental physiology at the Central University of Venezuela, which was the first to be implemented in the region,” he said.
