AN approved appointment of new ambassadors to Namibia and South Africa

The National Assembly (AN) approved the appointment of Carlos Feo Acevedo as ambassador to South Africa and Magaly Josefina Henríquez as ambassador to Namibia, both with concurrent representation in several African countries and before regional organizations.

The Plenary approved the appointments during its most recent ordinary session, held at the Federal Legislative Palace, in order to promote bilateral relations and the country's diplomatic presence on the continent.

The appointment of Acevedo, whose experience and experience in the foreign service have been recognized by his colleagues, will be concurrent with the Union of the Comoros, the Republic of Madagascar, the Republic of Mauritius, the Republic of Seychelles and the Kingdom of Lesotho, in order to expand Venezuelan influence and establish solid alliances in key points in the African region.

For her part, Magaly Josefina Henríquez, with an outstanding career as a chemist and researcher, will assume a crucial role in Namibia, concurrent with the Republic of Botswana, the Republic of Zimbabwe and Special Representative to the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

Their knowledge in areas of mining and science will be essential to promote cooperation and economic development projects, as well as to strengthen cultural and scientific ties between our country and these nations.

These appointments reinforce the commitment of the Bolivarian Government to an active and dynamic foreign policy, aimed at always seeking mutual benefit and international understanding.
