The ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Republic of Austria, Claudia Salerno Caldera, presented this Wednesday the Credentials accrediting her in office to the Federal President of the European country, Alexander Van der Bellen.
At a protocol ceremony held in the Maria Theresia Hall of the Hofburg Imperial Palace in Vienna, the presidential residence, both authorities held a conversation in which they agreed on the need to resume areas of common interest at the bilateral level, in order to build a mutually beneficial relationship, based on dialogue and mutual respect.
The Austrian dignitary said that 60 years ago he visited Venezuela aboard an oil tanker on a trip he took with a family member. He sent his greetings to the Venezuelan people and expressed interest in the presidential inauguration of January 10, 2025, about which Ambassador Salerno Caldera informed that the official ceremony is being organized, as provided for in the national legal system.
The diplomat was also appointed by President Nicolás Maduro to represent Venezuela before the Slovak Republic, the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Croatia, nations in which she hopes to present Credentials.
In addition, it acts as national representation before the international organizations of the United Nations System based in Vienna; namely: United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC); United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO); International Atomic Energy Organization (IAEA) and the Treaty Organization of Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban (CTBT).
