This Thursday, May 23, the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reaffirmed that while the right wing was calling for sanctions and aggressions against the Homeland, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, stood there standing up to the empire.

“It was President Nicolás Maduro, despite the blockade, sanctions, persecution and assassination attempts, who courageously, independently and sovereignly stood up to the most powerful empire of all time; and we can say today that 25 years after the Revolution that they have not been able to deal with the People of Venezuela nor will they ever be able to with this People,” Cabello emphasized during the Mobilization in support of President Nicolás Maduro and against sanctions in the Atures municipality, Amazonas state.

He recalled that this opposition, which is deployed in the country asking for the people's vote, is the same one that demanded sanctions, blockade, invasions and even planned an assassination against the Head of State. “Now they come to say 'vote for me because I'm good, I'll give you a chance' (...) they're the political liars,” he said.

In view of this, he stressed that, fortunately, Venezuela now has a conscious people. “It was Commander (Hugo) Chávez who opened the eyes of the People, who made sure that the People had a voice,” he said.
