“Almost Venezuela Now”: Another briefcase foundation created by Joshua P. Jones and Erik Prince to destabilize Venezuela

The most alarming thing is how the United States government allows gringo citizens and foundations registered in their country, such as the Outside America Foundation, to collect funds to try to overthrow or assassinate a legitimate president

The right-wing opposition never tires of inventing ways to defraud and manipulate the people. Now they have launched the fraudulent campaign “ Almost Venezuela”, an operation shrouded in shadows and managed by characters such as Joshua P. Jones, a 49-year-old lawyer from Georgia, and the mercenary Erik Prince; both with dark interests and the complicity of the US government to continue attacking the country. This scam is just the continuation of what we already saw with the scammy fundraising raffle for the primary elections and the media concert in Cucuta in 2019.

The nation's Minister of Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, said this Wednesday, September 11, in his Con El Mazo Dando program that “Almost Venezuela” consists of a façade against Venezuelan democracy.

Already Almost Venezuela is a façade set up by Erik Prince and the twins Andrés and Alejandro Vera. There are also other people involved that we can't reveal yet. These twins, along with others, defrauded more than 400 million dollars in a pyramid scheme and left thousands of victims without their savings. But a thief who steals from a thief has 100 years of forgiveness. And the twins, in a bad move of fate, also lost some of the stolen money. This is how they came into contact with Erik Prince, who they asked for help in rescuing the stolen money. Prince saw in the twins a criminal potential to raise money quickly and quickly. And that's where the idea of putting the “freedom” of Venezuela as a façade was born,” he said.

The Outside America Foundation (Tax ID 93-3587690), registered with the IRS, is the organization listed on gift receipts. Here's the first inconsistency: this foundation is registered to receive less than $50,000 a year, but now, magically, it's raising hundreds of thousands of dollars. In addition, the most suspicious thing is that the registered address of this “foundation” is simply a residential address: 159 1st Ave N 153, Franklin, TN 37064. An address in a residential building that clearly seeks to hide everything related to the activities of this ghost entity.

Joshua P. Jones, who was a former prosecutor in the United States, is at the head of this organization without any kind of transparency, while Erik Prince, a mercenary known for his military operations in the service of imperialism, is also linked to fundraising. There's no website, no clear mission, no explanation of where the money is going. All this indicates that we are dealing with another “briefcase foundation” designed to finance criminal acts against our Revolution.

Strangely enough, Iván Simonovis, who at first seemed to be linked to fundraising, has recently disassociated himself from the whole issue, surely realizing the problems that lie ahead because of the irregularities surrounding this operation. Why is someone who at first trusted the “seriousness” of this initiative, now running away? Simple: You know that this scam isn't going to last much longer before being exposed.

The most alarming thing is how the United States government allows gringo citizens and foundations registered in their country, such as the Outside America Foundation, to collect funds to try to overthrow or assassinate a legitimate president. What would happen if a similar campaign were organized in Venezuela to attack the president of the United States? This is the double standard of imperialism: They allow illegal actions against sovereign governments as long as they align with their interests.

And if anyone has questions about fundraising, they can call or write directly to Joshua P. Jones at +1 (703) 994-9682. Ask him where the money is and what he intends to do with it. Don't expect clear answers from someone involved in such a shady plot, though.

This new right-wing scam, like the raffle for the primary elections and the concert in Cúcuta, is just another attempt by the opposition to manipulate and plunder its own people, while continuing to use these tactics to attack the legitimate government of Venezuela.
