On February 22, 1930, Alfredo Sánchez Luna was born, better known as Alfredo Sadel, Venezuela's favorite tenor, considered by many to be the most important popular and lyrical singer in the musical history of our country.

He was one of the first to venture internationally into the world of opera, standing out not only for his technical capacity but also for his high level of interpretation.

This Venezuelan studied at the Escuela Superior de Música de Caracas, when he was just 16 years old and continued throughout his life in Mexico City, New York, Buenos Aires, Barcelona, Salzburg and Milan and included solfeggio, piano, harmony and composition.

Sadel's first performance was at the Cathedral of Caracas, where he sang the Ave Maria and successfully impressed the audience.

He was also classified as one of the most notorious interpreters of bel canto in the 1940s and 1950s. Sadel toured the various genres, always based on rhythms and Latin American songs. But the predominant bolero among the passages, the waltzes and the pasooble helped him gain worldwide recognition.

On July 28, 1989, he died of bone cancer, which caused his death at the age of 59. Sadel recorded more than 2,000 songs and performed impeccably nationally and internationally.
