The member States of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) expressed their firm rejection of the recent unilateral coercive measures imposed on Venezuela.

It points out that these actions, aimed at State officials, were announced on January 10, 2025, during the swearing in of the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros for the constitutional period 2025-2031.

The ALBA-TCP statement highlights the unscrupulous and criminal measures imposed in unison by the governments of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and the European Union (EU).

These actions, coinciding with the presidential swearing in ceremony, reflect a deliberate and premeditated effort by Western corporate governments to undermine the peace and stability of a free, sovereign and independent nation like Venezuela.

ALBA-TCP rejects unilateral coercive measures imposed on Venezuela

The member states of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) reject aggressions against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, including unilateral coercive measures against State officials, announced on January 10, 2025, during the inauguration of President Nicolás Maduro Moros for the constitutional period 2025-2031.

The unscrupulous extortion and criminal measures imposed in unison by the American, Canadian, British and European Union governments, while the presidential swearing in was taking place, reflect the cruelty, complicity and obvious premeditation of Western corporate governments to harm the peace and stability of a free, sovereign and independent nation such as Venezuela.

As a perverse complement to the plan of aggression in this new phase, the US State Department, without the slightest legal basis, publishes advertisements with rewards against the President of Venezuela and several of his collaborators, with the objective of trying to harm Venezuelan institutions and to jeopardize the security and integrity of those affected and, consequently, to attack the peace of the country. They also announce visa restrictions against Venezuelan citizens, showing an action alien to international law and the most basic rules of civility.

The peoples and governments of the ALBA-TCP express their total repudiation of these maliciously orchestrated measures of aggression against Venezuela, with the assurance that President Nicolás Maduro, with his experience and wisdom, will be able to lead the Venezuelan nation on the path of prosperity and peace, despite the imperial pretensions that rest on Latin America and the Caribbean.
