The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) rejected this Friday the statements of the head of the Southern Command of the United States (USA), Laura Richardson, against some member countries of the regional integration block.

In a statement, the Alliance noted that Richardson “irresponsibly and cynically” launched “baseless accusations” against nations that make up the block, demonstrating, “once again, the intolerance of U.S. imperialism in the face of the existence of free and sovereign countries that seek the welfare of their peoples, choose their own political system and do not submit to Washington's neocolonial interests.”

These statements demonstrate, once again, the intolerance of US imperialism in the face of the existence of free and sovereign countries that seek the welfare of their peoples, choose their own political system and do not submit to Washington's neocolonial interests, he said.

The ALBA-TCP indicated that Latin America and the Caribbean “has been the victim of a long list of interventions and plunder” by different U.S. Administrations.

“The incessant pretensions of the United States to reimpose the Monroe Doctrine violate the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, by maintaining a political hostility and interference in the internal affairs of our nations, the imposition of unilateral coercive measures that are contrary to International Law and threats of the use of force to appropriate what has never belonged to them or will belong to them”, refer to the text.

Finally, the Alliance countries reiterated their strongest rejection of the “unacceptable qualifications and interfering threats” of the United States and “its expansionist pretensions for our peaceful, free, sovereign and independent region”.
