With the participation of youth representatives of political movements and parties in Latin America, Jorge Arreaza, the executive secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America — Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), held a day of debate focused on the effects of unilateral sanctions in the region.

From the headquarters of the Future Movement, in Caracas, Arreaza highlighted the creation of an “ALBA model” where young people can experience a plenary session of the integration organization, as part of the activities leading up to the 20th anniversary of ALBA-TCP, to be held on December 14.

In this regard, he highlighted the need to strengthen regional cooperation in the face of challenges such as climate and economic crises. “Small Caribbean countries have been hit by these sanctions, which seek not only to weaken Venezuela, but also to weaken an entire network of regional solidarity. It's time to move forward together in a system of risk management and effective cooperation,” quotes a press release from the Alliance.

During the activity, the participants addressed the different concrete examples of the impacts of sanctions, from the deterioration of public services in the Bolivarian nation to the blockade of essential supplies to the Cuban population.
