As part of the binational agreement with the American company North
American Blue Energy Partners (NABEP), this Friday, the
vice-president of Gas de Petrleos de Venezuela SA (PDVSA), Jannier Viloria, led the field inspection of
the Maracaibo Lake Basin, in the state of Zulia.
“Today we visited the Bachaquero 2 plant, we visited the
Bachaquero 1 pier, we visited this Macolla Víctor 84, where we see 11 wells that are producing,” Viloria said during a presidential pass.
He emphasized the strategic nature of this alliance between PDVSA and NABEP and
the US Government, which has increased production capacity, “not
only in terms of infrastructure, but also in terms of technology. We are soon
bringing three compressor plants that would be arriving
next year, which will increase the production and activation of
category 2 to category 1 wells,” he said.
He stressed that “with the projection we had from Petro Zamora
of 115,000 barrels today, the West also breaks record with 382,500
barrels at the close of production today.”
For his part, the vice president of Production at PDVSA,
Eduardo Pinto, indicated that “there is operational progress, a profound
recovery at the infrastructure level and that is really reflected
in these numbers that we are giving today of 115,000 barrels.”
He highlighted that this field started with about 30,000 barrels “and
today it is really consolidating production levels to more than 100,000 barrels and looking for those 120,000
barrels by the end of the year (...) Today we are
closing at 1,252,000 barrels, which represents the highest number we have had in recent months,” he said.
