The interim president of South Korea, Han Duck-soo, prime minister who took office from President Yoon Suk-yeol after his resignation for declaring martial law earlier this month, was dismissed this Friday by the Parliament of the Asian nation with 192 votes from the 300 legislators.

According to South Korean law, the next in line of succession to assume the interim presidency is Finance Minister Choi Sang-mok.

According to international media reports, the Democratic Party (PD), the main opposition force that controls the parliament, decided to dismiss Han for not immediately appointing three judges to fill the vacancies in the Constitutional Court, as it asked for a bipartisan agreement to do so.
