After seven days in the Intensive Care Unit of the Coromoto Hospital in the city of Maracaibo, this Thursday, the death of María Elaine Herrera Bohórquez, a 23-year-old girl with disabilities, victim of a challenge from the social network TikTok, became known.

María was hospitalized after suffering 75 percent of burns on her body after she caught fire on a live connection transmitted through the social network TikTok to please some people who challenged her and who in return would send her a special gift that would be converted into money; however, it turned out to be a deception on the part of these people.
The victim was celebrating her birthday and had a visual, musculoskeletal and neurological disability and was deceived by Enderver Jesús Villasmil Montiel (26), a 16-year-old girl, both arrested and Mary Elena Peña Villasmil (22), who were still being arrested; who offered her a gift that generates money through this platform, so the vulnerable victim accepted and set fire to her clothing, which went out of control and caused second and third degree burns on 75% of her body.
The case is assigned to the Office of the Prosecutor 46 Common Crimes, the Sixth Prosecutor's Office and the Office of the 31 that have jurisdiction over the adolescent criminal system, with the purpose of convicting those responsible for an act that denigrates and harms the lives of citizens.
