A total of 13 nominations for the presidential elections received by the CNE for the presidential elections

With a total of 12 candidates, after the legal deadline expired, the National Electoral Council (CNE) closed the process of registering candidates for the presidential elections, on July 28.
For five days, the CNE received proposals from the different organizations, movements and political parties that live in the country, that comply with the law and that are duly accredited by the governing body.
The United Socialist Party of
Venezuela (PSUV), together with the groups that make up the Great
Patriotic Pole, registered Nicolás Maduro as the only candidate.
While the opposition
sector submitted 11 nominations: Luis Eduardo Martínez (Democratic Action), Antonio
Ecarri (Pencil Alliance), Juan
Carlos Alvarado (COPEI), Daniel Ceballos (AREPA), Benjamín Rausseo (National
Democratic Confederation), Javier Bertucci (The Change), José Brito (First Venezuela), Claudio Fermín (Venezuela Solutions) and Luis Ratti (Democratic Right)
Popular).
While the last to submit their candidacy were:
Enrique Márquez (Centered Movement) and Manuel Rosales (Neighborhood Force and a New
Time).
The registration process was carried out in peace, with transparency and in democracy, adjusted to faithful compliance with Venezuelan laws.
