- On the morning of August 25, 1967, the young revolutionary militant Félix José Farías Salcedo, Commander Claudio, 28, was assassinated by agents of the General Directorate of Police (DIGEPOL).
- Very early, at 6:45 a.m., Félix Farías went out to buy the press. In front of the newsstand, he was shot down by a DIGEPOL patrol outside the Perito Building, on Urdaneta Street in Chacao. Forensic doctors found twelve bullet holes in his body.
- His death was the result of the betrayal of two urban guerrilla fugitives: Adolfo Manuel Meinhart Lares “Milkos” and Carlos Núñez Tenorio “Luisito”.
- In advance, Meinhart Lares had taken care, as administrator of the funds of the group in his charge, to rent real estate for his comrades and then personally bring the Commissars Mateo Huizi and Olimpo de Armas, who tortured DIGEPOL, to those houses to be massacred.
- Meinhart Lares had been arrested two weeks earlier and since then he collaborated in the police action to execute, on the morning of August 25, Félix Farías “Claudio”, and on the afternoon of that same day, Eleazar “El Loco Fabricio” Aristigueta and Luis Fernando Vera Betancourt “Plutarco”, in the massacre in the neighborhood of El Nazareno.
- All of them had belonged to the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV), and then joined the José Leonardo Chirinos Guerrilla Front. Later they were sent to Caracas to participate in urban operations commands.
- Félix José Farías Salcedo was born in Puerto Cabello, Carabobo state, he was a Senior Technician in Industrial Chemistry and at the time of his death he left behind a 10-month-old son.
