The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, appointed the 83rd National Prosecutor's Office to investigate and punish those responsible for the new assassination threats against President Nicolás Maduro.

The decision was taken after a statement was released by a paramilitary group called Self-Defense Conquerors of the Sierra, better known as “Los Pachencas”, in which they announced that they were contacted by groups of the extreme right to attack the President of the Republic and destabilize the country, ahead of the presidential elections on July 28.

During the program With Maduro Suddenly, from Radio Urimare, the Head of State made the public complaint and explained that, according to the statement, the plan included the entry of a thousand men to generate violence in border states.

“Once the right wing sang fraud, they had to come in and generate violence to create the feeling of a civil war,” said Maduro.
