61st edition of the Tour of Venezuela by Bike starts on October 6

With 8 stages of travel, the 61st edition of the Vuelta a Venezuela by Bicycle will take place from October 6 to 13, under the organization of the National Cycling Federation as part of the International Cycling Union calendar.

The event will be held in the states of Mérida, Trujillo, Lara, Yaracuy, Carabobo and the Capital District to accumulate a little more than a thousand kilometers of route, with a starting point in the City of the Knights, with a passage through Lagunillas and Santa Cruz de Mora, totaling 130 kilometers.

The second route will begin with the lowering of the checkered flag in Santa Elena de Arenales, Mérida state and ends in Valera, 180 kilometers long.

The journey to the final finish line will continue with 150 kilometers of travel in the third stage, where they will reach the state of Lara when they set foot on Caroreño soil. The fourth stage, which will also distribute points for the world championships, will be a 40-kilometer individual time trial, whose starting and finishing point is the town of El Tocuyo in Larense and will pass through San José de Quibor.

The fifth stage of the cycling competition to Venezuela will take place between the towns of Quibor and Yaracuy, on a high mountain day that will culminate in a demanding climb, to the ruins of El Castillo de San Vicente, after traveling 150 kilometers. The sixth stage will continue in the state of Yaracuy, with a fast circuit of 120 kilometers, in the city of San Felipe.

Valencia, a Carabobeña city, will be the scene of the antepenultimate stage, while Caracas, the nation's capital, will host the last one. Both cycling days will have routes of 160 and 120 kilometers, respectively, according to a press release.
