Producers from the Guanta municipality received a total of 50,000 coffee plants as part of initiatives aimed at strengthening agricultural production in the state of Anzoátegui. The activity was carried out in the facilities of local nurseries, which to date have registered a figure of more than 120,000 plants produced and are moving towards a projection of 500,000 units by the year 2027. This deployment included the organizational participation of the Municipal Agriculture Office in coordination with the governing bodies of the sector.
The process is supported by the Foundation for the Development of Science and Technology (Fundacite Anzoátegui), an institution that provides continuous technical advice and promotes the use of sustainable agroecological practices. The incorporation of scientific and technological tools in these communities seeks to optimize planting stages, agronomic management and general crop yield in areas with a coffee vocation.
These operational actions respond to the guidelines of the Ministry of People's Power for Science and Technology (MinCyT), in accordance with the country's sustainable rural development and food sovereignty plans. In addition, the initiative is attached to the third vertex of the Great Mission of Science, Technology and Innovation Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán, a program that consolidates the Scientific-Peasant Alliance in the national territory.
