This Thursday, at least 292 Palestinians lost their lives due to the closure by the Israeli army of the Rafah crossing in the southern Gaza Strip, the government's press office reported.

Among the victims were injured people who had to be treated in hospitals outside of Gaza, but they died while waiting for the opening of the Rafah crossing,” the Palestinian government said.

The press office stressed that more than 3,500 sick and injured people have been denied access to the border crossing since Israel took control.

This was closed since May 7, and it is the only way out from Gaza, so from that date on, poor humanitarian conditions worsened in the Palestinian territory.
