27-F: Memory of a decent people massacred by a puppet government of imperialism

Published at: 28/02/2024 11:11 PM

Hunger, social inequality and the neoliberal policies of the government of former president Carlos Andrés Pérez forced the Venezuelan people, on February 27, 1989, to take to the streets to demand their rights.

This popular mobilization was “combated” by the government of the time with lead. For almost a week that this revolt lasted, the repressive bodies of the State murdered more than 3 thousand people and as many thousands disappeared under the excuse of “returning to the constitutional thread”.

While the people were being massacred, organizations such as the OAS, which now seeks to give human rights lessons to Venezuela, applauded the actions of that puppet government of the interests of imperialism.
