With the launch of a genocidal operation that consisted of the large-scale bombing of several cities, on March 20, 2003, the Pentagon falcons launched their plan to destroy the Middle East and North Africa, with the invasion of Iraq.
The fact, which was broadcast live on American television stations as if it were a show, was carried out under the argument of the existence of “weapons of mass destruction” in Iraqi territory, a fact that was later denied by the same American and British authorities who asked for “apologies” for the error, which cost at least 800,000 people killed in a war that lasted for more than 10 years and is still going on in some regions of this oil-rich country.
This invasion, which was rejected by most of the peoples of the world, was carried out by the United States, led by the genocidal and alcoholic George Bush; by Great Britain, which was led by Tony Blair; and by Spain, whose prime minister was the fascist and leader of the Popular Party José María Aznar.
The economic interest that marked this war was revealed in the resolution adopted on May 22, 2003 by the Security Council of the United Nations (UN), which granted power to the United States and Great Britain to govern Iraq and manage the country's oil resources.
This imperialist operation caused the uprising of various movements that sought to free this Arab nation from occupation, the strongest being the one led by the Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, who led the militias that fought against United States forces from Naiaf, managing to advance and take control over important cities through guerrilla warfare.
After 8 years, after having plundered a significant part of the resources and destroying entire cities, faced with the impossibility of dominating the territory, the United States decided to withdraw from Iraq, which was announced by the then president, Barack Obama, on October 21, 2011 and was executed on December 18 of that same year.
This new defeat of imperialism in what has been one of the longest-running wars of the 21st century, was the beginning of an operation launched by the Secretary of Defense against countries in the Middle East and North Africa, which resulted after the invasion of Iraq, in the operation against Libya and then Syria in 2011.
Today, 22 years after the beginning of this genocidal aggression of North American imperialism, which left only destruction and death in this nation that was the cradle of humanity, the peoples of the world raise the flags of sovereignty and self-determination, to demand the end of empires and fight for the construction of a world without hegemonies.
