On October 22, 1813, Simón Bolívar created, by decree, the Order of the Liberators of Venezuela, in honor of the distinguished patriotic soldiers, who participated in the independence campaign.
“The venera of the order will be a star of seven provinces that make up the Republic, on the shore there will be this inscription: Liberator of Venezuela. On the reverse, the name of the liberator... no liberator can obtain it without having won at least three times,” says the decree of October 22, 1813.
Since the 14th of that same month, Bolívar had the honorary title of “Liberator of Venezuela” conferred on him by the municipality of Caracas on behalf of the people.
