21 dead after a traffic accident in southern Afghanistan

The spokesman for the provincial government of Afghanistan, Mawlawi Mohammad Qasim Riaz, reported that a traffic accident that occurred this Sunday in Helmand left at least 21 dead and 11 injured.

 

In this regard, he explained that a bus capsized and caught fire after colliding with a tanker truck and a van that caused the instant death of the victims.

 

According to the Xinhua website, an investigation into the accident has been launched.

 

It is worth noting that traffic accidents are a constant in Afghanistan, a country where, from April 2023 to last month, more than 1,600 people have died, including 447 children and more than 4,000 have been injured in this type of accident.
