2012: Commander Chávez registered his candidacy and handed over the Homeland Plan to the CNE

On June 11, 2012, Commander Hugo Chávez registered his presidential candidacy and presented the 2013-2019 Homeland Plan to the board of directors of the National Electoral Council (CNE).

Chávez accompanied by his people traveled through the streets in a caravan from Miraflores to the CNE.

“Madam President, gentlemen rectors, rectors, dear compatriots. I do my duty on this day of registration of the candidacy of the Fatherland, the candidacy of the majority of Venezuelans; the candidacy for the construction of an independent, free and socialist Fatherland; I fulfill my duty, as required by law, to deliver to you in the name of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, of all the parties of the patriotic coalition, of the Great Patriotic Pole, of the social, revolutionary, socialist and popular movements, and in my own as citizen and since, starting today, a candidate for the presidency of the Republic for the next term, giving him this document, which is important to me, is of the greatest importance to us (...) We have worked hard these past few months, and especially these last few days, structuring this proposal, the 2013-2019 Homeland program. I give it to you as a commitment to life, to fight, to battle, and of course to victory,” said the Commander from the headquarters of the National Electoral Council.

After his registration, he addressed all the crowd that accompanied him, that town that filled Plaza Diego Ibarra.

“The most precious asset we have achieved in these 13 years of Bolivarian government, of the Bolivarian Revolution: Independence,” he said.
