On January 14, 2006, the Black Hipolita Mission was created by Commander Hugo Chávez to serve people in street situations.
“Let's fight for life! To shake hands with the other, to get him out of hell or before he falls into hell, that's why the Black Mission Hippolyta was born,” said the Supreme Commander.
In this regard, during his program Aló Presidente, broadcast on January 8, 2006, Commander Chávez explained that “it is a very Christian mission, extremely humanitarian,” said the revolutionary leader.
People who choose to change their living situation receive free treatment for 10 months with trained personnel who help them recognize their potential and develop them.
This body works in two phases: One in which the approach, training and transfer to the Initial Care Center are carried out. Another one of comprehensive care, in which people are offered temporary residence in spaces known as Socialist Therapeutic Communities and, subsequently, they are transferred to the Family Guidance Center, which prioritizes the socio-productive approach.
