On October 30, 1825, the Liberator Simon Bolivar, after the victories in the battles of Junín and Ayacucho, received the Sword of Peru, one of the most notable historical resources in South America, which was received from the hands of the commissioner of the municipality of Lima, Colonel Salazar.

The scabbard is made entirely of 18 carat solid gold, with elegant and varied designs that stand out, and the sword measures an entire rod and seven inches long.

In addition, on his hilt, he has different writings honoring the Liberator, for his courage and conviction to fight for the freedom of the Nation.

On that occasion, the Liberator addressed the following words of thanks to the municipality of Lima:

Colonel Salazar presented me with the beautiful sword that the municipality of Lima was kind enough to offer me, after having given so many other proofs of his generous feelings and the price he places on the efforts being made for freedom and for the restoration of the rights of peoples.
