Commander Hugo Chávez announced on January 8, 2007, the nationalization of the Venezuelan National Telephone Company and Electric System (CANTV).

“Everything that was privatized, be nationalized. Let's recover social ownership over strategic means of production,” said the Commander at the time.

After the nationalization, the Venezuelan people were allowed to enjoy services in an accessible way.

17 years after their nationalization, the workers and workers of these public services have defended companies against imperial attacks.
