A total of 15 Latin American countries have confirmed their participation in the World Parliamentary Forum against Fascism, Neofascism and Other Similar Expressions, which will take place in Caracas on November 4 and 5.
This was reported by the president of the Venezuelan Group of the Latin American Parliament (Parlatino), Deputy Ángel Rodríguez, after meeting in the Federal Legislative Palace with the presidents of the parliamentary friendship groups of the countries of the region.
According to a press release from the Legislative Branch, Deputy Rodríguez said that 160 representatives from 15 parliaments are expected to participate, and warned that this number of attendees could increase in the coming days.
He pointed out that the objective is to constitute, at the global level, an interparliamentary network against fascism, undoubtedly linked to violence, aggression and destabilization; which must be defeated with peace organization and diplomacy.
He indicated that the presidents of parliamentary friendship groups have the task of establishing friendly ties and bilateral agreements during international activity.
He explained that, in the face of the effects of fascism, it is necessary to strengthen unity and create that front to defeat it.
