An aroused forest fire in the vicinity of the TransArgaua parking lot destroyed 112 buses in this transport system, transportation minister Ramón Velásquez Araguayan revealed.

In this regard, during a press conference held this Friday, he revealed that for this reason a citizen is being arrested who allegedly started the fire.

He also highlighted that the State Security Corps are carrying out investigations to determine if there are others involved in this event.

“We have no hesitation in describing this event as a planned criminal act, considering that, currently, as a result of the forest fires that occur in Henry Pittier Park, all the potential of the state's firefighters were dedicated to putting out this fire,” he said.

In the same way, he pointed out that 80 of the burned units were included in a recovery plan to place them at the service of the Aragueño people.
