Venezuela-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group to promote bilateral trade alliance

The Venezuela-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group (GAP) agreed to promote the commercial, tourism and agricultural alliances signed by the two countries, with the objective of expanding, developing and signing other binational cooperation agreements.

This was reported by the president of the group, Deputy Saúl Ortega, at the end of the working meeting they held with the Vietnam ambassador to Venezuela, Vu Trung My and a delegation of the Communist Party of the Southeast Asian nation, headed by Nguyen Ho Hai, a member of the Central Committee, the National Assembly (AN) reported in a press release published on its website.

Ortega indicated that the great financial and strategic alliance they are pursuing will boost the economic growth of both nations, so they will continue to promote political and social exchanges to promote the participation of young people in the knowledge of the thinking of Ho Chi Minh and Hugo Chávez against imperialism and in favor of the freedom and sovereignty of Peoples.

“We have a deep admiration for the heroics and courage of the Vietnamese people, for a memorable struggle in which they defeated the French, Japanese and American empires. That's no small thing,” he stressed.

He highlighted that the president of the AN, deputy Jorge Rodríguez, the first vice-president, deputy Pedro Infante and the second vice-president, deputy América Pérez, showed their support and welcomed the initiative of the Vietnamese people.

For his part, the head of the delegation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Ho Hai, explained that the purpose of the visit is to invite the Venezuelan delegation to participate, on April 30, in the celebration of Reunification Day and the 35th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between Venezuela and Vietnam, in the city of Ho Chi Minh City in the last quarter of the year.

The second secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party in Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Ho Hai, reported that they are also seeking to strengthen relations between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), which establishes 8 articles, signed on November 3, for the formation of youth cadres of both parties.

The members of the Venezuela-Vietnam GAP participated in the activity; composed of the vice-president of the AN, deputy Marelis Pérez Marcano and the assembly members Francisco Ameliach, Nancy Pérez Sierra, Emmanuel Delgado Marín, John Carlos Moreno and Ausberto Díaz Samuel.

The Vietnam delegation was chaired by parliamentarian Nguyen Ho Hai, secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and members of the political bureau, Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue, Tran Kin Yen, Pham Thanh Kien, Ngo Minh Chau, Nguyen Manh Cuong, Pham Dut Diem and Vu Anh Tuan.
