The Institute for Higher Thought Studies of Commander Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías presented this Sunday the book entitled Hugo Chávez, the people's candidate, at the 15th edition of the Caracas Book Fair.

According to information from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the presentation that took place in the Benito Yrady Room of the emblematic National Art Gallery (GAN), was given by the revolutionary professor and brother of the Commander, Adán Chávez Frías, who highlighted the importance of this book as a tool for understanding the political thought and action of Hugo Chávez.

“This book is a tribute to the leader who dedicated his life to the fight for social justice and the dignity of the Venezuelan people,” he said.

He also explained that the title of the book reflects the different moments and campaigns of Commander Chávez, stressing the importance of recognizing the work of the team that compiled and analyzed his speeches.

“Reading and rereading the speeches, we realized the logic with which Chávez mentioned key people in the revolution, who at times had important responsibilities in our process of socialist construction,” he commented and noted that the book includes eight speeches by Commander Chávez, from December 1998 to October 2012, ranging from his first presidential campaign to his last speech.

“The sequence of Chávez's thinking has remained constant over the years, focusing on social justice, participatory and leading democracy, popular unity and popular power,” he said.

For her part, Evelyn Rodríguez, representative of the Institute, emphasized the relevance of the work in the current context, stressing that “the people have always been present and caring for the legacy of Chávez”.

In addition, he invited everyone to join in reflecting on the impact of the Commander's campaigns and how they continue to resonate today.

The Institute for Higher Thought Studies of Commander Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías continues its work to preserve and disseminate the legacy of the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution through various educational and cultural initiatives.
