Development Commission to monitor compliance with the Law for People with Disabilities

The Permanent Commission for Integral Social Development will monitor compliance with the Organic Law for the Inclusion, Equality and Integral Development of Persons with Disabilities, for which purpose it will visit public and private companies throughout the country.

This was reported this Tuesday by the president of the commission, Deputy Rodolfo Crespo (PSUV/Miranda), after the presentation of the legislative agenda of the Subcommittee on Social Protection, Mission System and Great Missions for the period 2024-2025.

He recalled that this law was approved by the National Assembly (AN) on March 14, and aims to guarantee the recognition of the human dignity of these Venezuelans, as subjects of full right.

Crespo proposed continuing the debate on laws already enacted by the National Executive, such as the Law on Student Participation in the Basic Education Subsystem.

But also, he said, with the Law for Comprehensive Care for People with Autism Spectrum Disorder; the Special Law for Workers with Disabilities; and the Organic Law for the Inclusion, Equality and Integral Development of Persons with Disabilities, in order to make them known to the public.

In his opinion, an important advance has been achieved in society by having this type of device, which favor those most in need; for this reason, he called for vigilance in complying with them.

The president of the Subcommittee on Social Protection, System of Missions and Great Missions, deputy Yuraima Quintero (PSUV/National), reported on the proposals of the legislative agenda of that body for this year 2024.

He noted, among the legislative proposals, the Preliminary Bill on Comprehensive Care for Blind People and People with Visual Impairments; the Draft Bill on Comprehensive Care for People with Intellectual Disabilities; and the Preliminary Bill on Comprehensive Care for People with Motor Disabilities.

In addition, the Reform of the Law for the Promotion and Protection of the Right to Equality of People with HIV or AIDS and their Families (revision of the current law and the Law on Prevention and Care for People with STIs).

Quintero also referred to the Draft Law on the Professional Practice of Public Health Inspectors; the Preliminary Bill on the Professional Practice of Architects; the Draft Law on the Professional Practice of Fiscal Sciences; and the Draft Law on the Professional Practice of Social Managers.

The parliamentarian said that the technical tables for Professional Practice and that of Parliamentarian for Disability Care will be reactivated.
