The mayor of the Libertador municipality, Carmen Meléndez, reported that the edition of the 15th Caracas Book Fair will be held from September 21 to 29, in the Plaza de la Juventud in the National Art Gallery, from 10:00 in the morning to 8:00 at night.

During the press conference, he indicated that the day will include more than 260 academic activities, 12 certified workshops, book naming, conferences with different teachers, national and international guests, the presentation of the Estefanía Mosca Awards and Children's Literature Prize, and the rolling library, which will be mobilized to distribute books in the squares of the Venezuelan capital.

“This Saturday, we are going to kick off this fifteenth Caracas Book Fair (...) where there will be special activities for our boys and girls, who are our special guests,” he said, highlighting the participation of 72 publishers, and a Children's Pavilion tent.

He noted that they will also include representatives of art and culture from the 22 parishes in Caracas. “Everyone is invited, they have to be the protagonists of this beautiful story of the Book Fair,” he said.

For his part, the president of the Center for Cultural Diversity, Benito Yrady, said that in this edition “there is fundamentally an interest in children. We are indebted to children across the country, it is necessary and urgent to pay attention to these new generations.”

In addition, Laura Antillano, writer in the genres of essays, poetry, novels and literary criticism, identified the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, as one of the main promoters of this event. “There are many activities that are going to take place and we hope with great affection that they will be to your satisfaction,” he said.
